Meditation is a conscious way of relaxing your mind and body for a while. Meditation is something that you can do no matter where you are. It does not take a long time to meditate in order to start to feel better. You can meditate to reduce stress in just 10 to 20 minutes per session.

Before you start to meditate, dress in comfortable clothing and find a quiet place to sit or lie down. Once you are positioned comfortably, close your eyes. Focus all your attention on your breathing. Make sure to breathe from your diaphragm. To be sure, that you are breathing from your diaphragm take in a deep breath through your nose and with your hand on your stomach, make sure it fully expands. Then lightly push down with your hand on your stomach while you breathe out through your mouth.

Meditation is all about concentration. Try to concentrate on happy thoughts. It may help you to use a mantra when meditating. A mantra is simply a few words that help you relax. Repeat these words repeatedly in your mind until you start feeling calm. You could try a single word mantra like relax, or you could say I am relaxed, I feel calm. Say this several times to yourself in your mind while you are relaxing.

If you find yourself wondering off in your thoughts, and may help to say I am relaxed, I feel calm aloud in order to get your mind back in focus. If it helps, why not try adding some soothing music and aromatherapy candles to keep you, feeling relaxed.

Try meditating for 10 to 20 minutes a couple of times a day and you can relax your breathing, lower your blood pressure and make it easier to think clearly. You can also meditate in the middle of the day if you start feeling stressed out. This will help you to get going again. Meditation to reduce stress and is an effective way to help lessen anxiety, which can help you to remain calm in stressful situations. By adding meditation to your daily routine, you’ll actually find that you have more time to do other things. The reason for this is, that once you become stressed out, you become dysfunctional and everything seems to take twice as long to accomplish. Start meditating and within a couple of weeks, you will notice a reduction in your stress levels.
